Why Your Goals Suck And What You Can Do About It
I am going to throw it out there and suggest that your goals probably suck.
January came round, you probably wrote some things down so you felt good about the New Year, New Me hype but in all honesty, they are probably just a to do list of every thing you feel you should do.
I personally believe goals are simply a tool that helps us to create a road map to allow us to get what we want however MOST people don’t’ know how to create really powerful goals that call them forward.
Here is exactly why your goals suck and what you can do to make them epic.

They aren’t even your goals
In my experience people, especially women create goals based on what they think the ‘should’ be working towards.
Whether it’s the parents influence or the influence of societal ‘norms’ goals that are driven by external influence will always suck.
You need to be emotionally connected to your goals. They need to light YOU up. They need to be powerful enough that you actually show up and do they work day in day out and even when it’s hard.
You don’t have a WHY behind your goals.
You have no idea why you are actually working towards the various things on your goals list.
When I ask women to write their health goals most of them will write ‘lose weight’
WHY? Why do you want to lose weight? Is it because it’s a life or death situation, is it because you want to feel more confident in your own body, is it because you want to move easier and chase after your kids in the playground.
Knowing your ‘why’ helps make your goals become a non negotiable, you are emotionally connected to take daily action.
You don’t have specific, clear outcomes.
If you aren’t super clear on what you want to achieve then you are going to waste a tonne of time trying to get there.
Your job is to get super specific on what you want. The more clear you are, the easier it is to take measurable action and if your into the ‘woo woo’ the faster the universe can support you.
You have no plan.
You write down what you want but you don’t take the time to reverse engineer what it’s going to take to get there.
You don’t need to know every single step but you are going to need some specifics in place so you can take action and actually move forward.
